The Trial involves each competitor attempting to drive their car through a series of “Trials Sections” usually a greasy grass or muddy slope with some tricky corners or obstacles to manoeuvre around. Each course is marked with standards and numbered markers which participants must navigate without touching or knocking them over. The further the car gets the more points are scored.

Held at Fleming Farm, Balcairn. From the Anglers Arms Hotel Sefton head north up Pemberton Road. Turn right at the T junction into Marhsmans Road. Continue onto shingle. Turn left about 50m before the ford into Flemings Rd and proceed about 1.8km to the end of the road. Look for the VCC signs.
