Open to all Club Eligible Cars. This is not a speed event but consists of 5 tests to determine the capability of the driver. The vehicle must be able to carry two regular suitcases.

Test 1 - Standing ¼ mile

Test 2 - Flying ¼ mile

Test 3 - Wiggle Woggle

Test 4 - Braking across a line

Test 5 - Reliability Trial (20 mins duration)

The event ends with a road section to a venue for presentation of prizes.

As the first leg of the Southern Festival of Speed…The VCC is invited to participate in the Skope Classic. This event is open to pre 1965 historic racing cars, sports cars and sporting type touring cars. All entrants must have a VCC Vehicle Identity Card (VIC)log book and historic licence or motorsport equivalent.

This rally is intended to capture the spirit of the original European event by providing a full day of competitive touring followed by an evening function and awards ceremony. Starting at various locations around the South Island, you will drive to Duvauchelle, near Akaroa, collecting points along the way for passing through as many locations as you can within the time allowed.

This is the 2nd leg of the Southern Festival of Speed. A wonderfully picturesque setting featuring Classic Cars in classes like Formula Junior, Pre 78’s, Muscle Cars, Formula Libre and more…

A 12 round series consisting of Circuit Racing and Hill Climbs, all in the South Island. This points series is the brain child of Don Gerrard who oversees and scores throughout the season. Designed to encourage and promote speed events, extra points are added if a car is driven to and from the event and for being a BPVCC club member.

2025 is the 20th Anniversary of the event. Hosted by Country Gentleman’s Historic Racing & Sport Car Club. 20km north of Cheviot, signposted from State Highway 1. Allow 1 hour 45 minutes from Christchurch or 2 hours if towing a trailer.
